The famous opera Madama Butterfly is back to the Teatro Costanzi in Rome in July.
Madama Butterfly is an opera in three acts by Giacomo Puccini with an Italian libretto written by Luigi IIIica and Giuseppe Giacosa.
The story of Madama Butterfly starts in 1904 and it takes place in Nagasaki, Japan.
The main characters in the opera are Madama Butterfly or Cio-Cio San, Suzuki who is Madama Butterfly’s maid, B. F. Pinkerton who is Madama Butterfly’s husband, Sharpless and Goro who is matchmaker.
The opera Madama Butterfly will premier at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma on Monday on 9th July 2015 at 9 pm. Beside the first performance there will be 5 more shows held at the Teatro Costanzi, the first one will be on Thursday on 9th July 2015 at 9 pm, the second one will be on Tuesday on 14th July 2015 at 9 pm, the following one will be on Thursday on 16th July 2015 at 9 pm, the next one will be on Thursday on 30th July 2015 at 9 pm and the last performance will be shown on Thursday on 6th August 2015 at 9 pm. Tickets for the shows are already available.
