Madama Butterfly in Rome 2015

The famous opera Madama Butterfly is back to the Teatro Costanzi in Rome in July.

Madama Butterfly is an opera in three acts by Giacomo Puccini with an Italian libretto written by Luigi IIIica and Giuseppe Giacosa.

The story of Madama Butterfly starts in 1904 and it takes place in Nagasaki, Japan.

The main characters in the opera are Madama Butterfly or Cio-Cio San, Suzuki who is Madama Butterfly’s maid, B. F. Pinkerton who is Madama Butterfly’s husband, Sharpless and Goro who is matchmaker.

The opera Madama Butterfly will premier at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma on Monday on 9th July 2015 at 9 pm. Beside the first performance there will be 5 more shows held at the Teatro Costanzi, the first one will be on Thursday on 9th July 2015 at 9 pm, the second one will be on Tuesday on 14th July 2015 at 9 pm, the following one will be on Thursday on 16th July 2015 at 9 pm, the next one will be on Thursday on 30th July 2015 at 9 pm and the last performance will be shown on Thursday on 6th August 2015 at 9 pm. Tickets for the shows are already available.

Pink Floyd Ballet in Rome 2015

In the summer of 2015 a unique ballet show, the Pink Floyd Ballet will premier in Rome at the Teatro dell’Opera.
The choreography of the Pink Floyd Ballet was created by the great French choreographer Roland Petit which is based on the music by the famous rock band Pink Floyd. Roland Petit created the choreography back in 1972.

In this unique performance the psychedelic effects of the music, the lightings, the choreographed movements and dance perfectly unite with the rock music by Pink Floyd.

The premier of the Pink Floyd Ballet will be shown on Tuesday on 23rd June 2015 at 9 in the evening at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome. Four more ballet show will be shown at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma after the premier, the second one will be on Wednesday on 24th June, the third one on Thursday on 25th June, fourth one will be shown on Friday on 26th June and the last Pink Floyd Ballet will be held on Saturday on 27th June in 2015.

The Queen of Spades

In the summer of 2015 the world wide known Tchaikovsky opera The Queen of Spades will be shown in Rome.

The Queen of Spades is an opera in 3 acts written by Pyotr IIyich Tchaikovsky and the libretto was composed by his brother, Modest Tchaikovsky. The story of the opera is based on the novel The Queen of Spades by Alexander Pushkin.
The story of the opera takes place in St. Petersburg in Russia in the 18th century. The main characters in the opera are Herman who is the officer of the Czar’s guard, Count Tomsky who is the friend of Herman, Chekalinsky who is an officer, Surin and Chaplitsky who are also officers, Countess, Liza who is the granddaughter of the countess and so on.

The Queen of Spades opera will premier on Friday 19th June 2015 in Rome at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. The other performances will be shown on 21st June, 23rd June, 25th June, 27th June and the last one will be on 30th June 2015.
